It’s Been One Year: A Look Back at the WFHT Community: wfh one year anniversary

Today marks one year since the launch of Women Food and Hunger Together (WFHT), a virtual network of professional women in food, agriculture, nutrition, and related fields. In just one year, WFHT has built a thriving online community of more than 3,000 members. The response has been overwhelmingly positive! And we are proud to announce that it’s not stopping here. There are so many exciting things coming for WFHT in 2019. Here’s a look back at how far we’ve come and what’s on the horizon for WFHT.

Why WFHT?

WFHT is all about connecting and growing with a supportive, vibrant community of like-minded professionals from around the globe—whether you’re a fresh-out-of-school millennial just starting to network or a seasoned professional looking to re-connect. WFHT is a virtual network and resource hub for women working in food and agriculture. These are some of the key reasons why WFHT was launched: – To provide a platform for women working in the food and agriculture industries to connect. – To create a space for women working in food and agriculture to feel empowered, visible, and heard. – To connect women from around the globe. – To encourage mentorship and collaboration. – To highlight the diverse and dynamic range of roles held by women working in food and agriculture.

The Importance of Networking

Networking is the process of building relationships with people in your field, which can lead to new opportunities, collaborations, and mentorships. It’s so important for professionals in the food and agriculture industries, because it’s how we grow our personal and professional networks. – From finding new paid positions to exploring different career paths, having a strong network will help you navigate the sometimes tricky waters of finding work. – Networking can help you find mentors who can guide you through your career path. – Networking can also help you find people to provide advice, feedback, and guidance on your current and ongoing projects.

Women Food and Hunger Together (WFHT) is a global network connecting women working in food and agriculture across the globe. WFHT aims to empower, connect, and inspire professional women in the food and agriculture industries. WFHT is a place to find support, mentorship, resources, and career advice. WFHT also provides a place for discussions and debates on food, agriculture, nutrition, and related topics. As we mentioned, we have so many exciting things planned for the coming year. Some of these include a WFHT conference, a WFHT publication, and a podcast. Stay tuned for announcements on these, and other exciting initiatives. We’re also planning to host panel discussions, roundtable discussions, interviews, webinars, meetups, and more. There will be plenty of chances to share your knowledge and expertise with other members, as well as learn from others.

Our WFHT Member Spotlight: Shruti Dhapola and Srividya Raman

Shruti Dhapola and Srividya Raman, two of WFHT’s co-founders, sat down with us to provide a little insight into the women who helped create the network. Shruti is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Food Forward and WFHT’s Indian chapter. She currently manages a team of 60 people, which includes a network of over 2500 volunteers. She is also the founder and host of the Podcast “The Urban Agriculture Revolution” and has an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Srividya is the Co-Founder and Director of Programs at Food Forward and WFHT’s Indian chapter. She leads efforts to mobilize and engage food producers, increase local food access, and promote equitable food systems. Before co-founding Food Forward, she worked as a consultant with the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.
